Saucier is operated by HAYi LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it refers to HAYi LLC.
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive and store your Apple User ID (an opaque identifier — not your email or Apple ID password) and your account creation date. Your Apple identity token is verified to complete sign-in and is not retained longer than necessary for that purpose.
Profile data. Your chef profile may include a display name, dietary preferences, food allergies, favorite cuisines, cooking skill level, household information and kitchen equipment. We use this information to personalize cooking assistance. Relevant profile information, including your display name and allergies, may be included in requests to our AI provider.
Conversations. Your messages to the AI chef, including any photos you share, are stored on our servers. The AI's responses are also stored. This history powers your ongoing conversations.
Recipes and shopping lists. Recipes generated by the AI or created by you, along with shopping list items, are stored on our servers and tied to your account.
Chef memory. The AI extracts long-term cooking preferences from your conversations — things like flavor affinities, ingredient preferences, and technique observations. This memory makes the AI more helpful over time.
Usage and diagnostic data. We record AI usage to manage service costs and usage limits. We also collect product events, app and device information, error reports and performance information to understand feature usage and reliability. These records may be associated with your account or other identifiers. Diagnostic reports may include error details, information about the events leading to an error, and screenshots, depending on the app version and error path. Content associated with an error may appear in diagnostic information.
Network and security metadata. When you sign in or verify a subscription, we may send your IP address to ipapi.is to obtain coarse information such as country, region, network operator and connection-risk indicators. We use derived information for security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting. Our hosting and other service providers also receive network information when your device connects to their services.
Subscription status. If you subscribe to Saucier Pro, we store your subscription status and Apple transaction ID for verification. We never see or store your payment method — Apple handles all billing.
Settings. Some preferences are stored locally on your device. Account-related settings and profile information may also be stored on our servers.
Notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so that Apple's notification service can deliver messages, such as an import-completion notification.
Feedback. If you send feedback through the app, we collect the message and an email address if you choose to provide one.
Advertising attribution. We use Apple Search Ads attribution information to understand which campaigns lead to installs. This is separate from using third-party advertising networks.
We derive coarse country and region information from IP addresses for security and troubleshooting. This is separate from device GPS location.

We share data with a limited set of service-provider categories to operate Saucier:
AI providers. Relevant messages, conversation history, chef profile information, learned preferences, recipes and images you share may be sent to Anthropic to generate responses and support recipe features. We use OpenAI for search embeddings and audio processing, including transcription of audio from imported videos. Where enabled voice features are used, audio and text needed for those features are also processed by OpenAI. Data handling by each provider is governed by the terms applicable to our API use. Platform, authentication, and payments. We use Apple for App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, and in-app purchases. Apple processes sign-in and payment data under its own privacy policy. We never receive your Apple ID password or payment card details.
Diagnostics and product analytics. We use Sentry for error reporting and diagnostics, and PostHog for product analytics. These services may receive account or device identifiers, app and device information, product events, network information and diagnostic details. Diagnostic reports may include screenshots or content associated with an error, depending on the app version and error path. Their retention and deletion processes are separate from deletion of the active Saucier account.
Infrastructure, storage and security. We use Railway to host the service and database, Cloudflare for website hosting and backup storage, and ipapi.is for network-risk information. These services process information needed to operate, store, deliver or protect Saucier, including service logs and backups.
Search, imports and external content. We may send search queries, imported links or related public content to Tavily and ScrapFly to retrieve information or import recipes. Source websites and image hosts may receive requests from our servers or directly from your device when content is retrieved or displayed.
Nutrition information. Our nutrition service looks up USDA FoodData Central reference data in our own database. Ingredient names, quantities and recipe context are sent to Anthropic to interpret ingredients and generate nutritional estimates. Queries against our local USDA copy are not sent to USDA.
We do not use ad networks or social media SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information.
We retain your profile, conversations, recipes, shopping lists and learned preferences while your account is active so that we can provide the service. You can delete your account from Settings.
When account deletion completes successfully, we remove your account and associated application records from our active database, including conversations, recipes, shopping lists, learned preferences, feedback and account-linked usage logs.
We retain limited security audit and safety-filter records after account deletion. We remove identifying fields tied to the deleted account, including the account identifier, IP address, free-text details, metadata and guardrail conversation identifier. The remaining records include event types and timestamps and, for safety-filter decisions, policy and decision information.
Account deletion does not immediately remove every copy in backups, diagnostic logs, analytics systems or other service providers. Those systems have separate retention and deletion processes. Backup copies, including manual backups and Cloudflare R2 copies, may retain information after account deletion. We do not currently have a verified maximum retention period covering all of these copies.

Saucier is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information.
Our primary application hosting and database are located in the United States. Service providers process information through their own infrastructure; the location of our primary servers does not describe every provider's processing or storage location.
We publish updates to this policy on this page and update its effective date.
